What can I expect if I register?
You will have access to the morning and afternoon Keynote sessions, three Track sessions, the panel discussion, morning refreshments, lunch in the Food Court, meet the authors, book purchase.
You will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from several organizations including: The Columbia Writer’s Guild, The Missouri Chapter of the Dramatists Guild of America.
You will learn from other authors, journal editors, and experts and have a chance to network with others towards the goal of getting your work published.
What do you mean by four Tracks?
There are four tracks offered – Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, Poetry and Playwriting/Screenwriting. Each track will have 3 sessions on:
- The Craft of Writing
What is the Mentorship Program?
Separate from your registration fee, you may also purchase and submit a portion of your written work for advanced review and/or meet with a mentor one-on-one during the event. (Limited appointments available. See the registration page for pricing.)
Critique: You may also sign up to have a sample of your work reviewed (there is a 3,000 word limit or 3 poems – 10 minute play or 10 pages for screen/play writing) $15.00 CLOSED
One-on-One 30 minute meetings: You will select which Mentor you will meet via our Mentorship Manager by email. You can take advantage of their expertise with or without the Critique portion of our program. $20.00 CLOSED
When is the deadline for the Early Bird discount?
Sign up by September 10th and receive the Early Bird discounted price. At that point the registration price will increase by $10.00. Mentorship Program fees for Critiques and One-on-One meetings will not increase. However, the deadline for joining the Mentorship Program is approximately October 1st. CLOSED
May I sell my books at Masterclass?
Speakers, mentors and conference attendees may consign their books through the Mizzou Bookstore. Please read the information carefully and note the deadline for getting books to the store to be processed. COMPLETE
What’s the difference between consigning my books and displaying my books?
Note, consigning books and book tables are two separate entities. You do not have to consign books in order to have a table for display of your work, your business card, to meet and greet the public. Book Tables are limited to Speakers, Mentors, and MWG/CCMWG Members. However, all SALES must go through the consignment process with the Mizzou Bookstore.
Where should I park?
Parking on campus can be a little challenging, so please check out the map below that identifies parking lots and garages. (Most parking lots fill up early and are metered. The garages are not metered.)

May I have a ride from the Virginia Avenue parking garage to the Student Center?
From 8 to 10:00 a.m., we will have 2 golf carts shuttling attendees from the Virginia Ave Garage to the MU Student Center for anyone requiring assistance. Please indicate your need on the registration form or contact Jenna at the Mizzou Bookstore:
Do you have hotel accommodations arranged for attendees?
The Hilton Garden Inn has graciously provided a reduced rate for attendees. You may be eligible for the reduced rate if booked before October 16th.
