When the guild was formed, say 50 years ago, someone correct me if I’m off by a decade, something GOOD emerged in central Missouri. The CCMWGuild made a goal to encourage budding writers of our area. Each new set of officers keeps the love of writing alive, tries to keep the guild as organized and productive as possible, adhering to the by-laws with yearly elected officers. Well, this September meeting is an essential part of the guild’s longevity. What is that exactly? Members actively voting and participating.
So, at our meeting on this coming Sunday, we will make a motion to accept the by-laws edits as proposed at the July meeting and to accept the new slate of officers. I sure hope you will be there with us. In fact, that part of our meeting may slide by quickly so we can get to our critique session (poetry/narrative). As always bring items to share for fellow readers/writers t0 give valuable input.
Finally, let’s put your hearts and minds into making a smooth and sucessful Conference and WRITE for our annual anthology (Well-Versed) whose deadline for submissions will be November 15th, 2014.
Guild meets September 7th , 2:00 pm Unity Center, West Broadway in Columbia.
See you on Sunday!
